Rusty-barred Owl


Strix hylophila

An Atlantic Forest endemic Owl that is rare in all its distribution area, that includes Eastern Paraguay, South Brazil and Northeast Argentina. Its head and upperparts are chesnut barred with dark brown. Here in Robin Nordvist´s photo, you can see its brown face, a pale collar and its whitish underparts barred dark brown.
